The Department of Music, University of Ibadan, has held its annual Christmas concert, and Carol sing-along. This year’s programme was tagged “The Christmas Star”.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode O. Adebowale, mni, FAS, while welcoming members of the University community, charged all and sundry to have “Hope.”

He said that from the recent happenings in the country, there is hope for the federal universities. He urged the academia not to lose hope that very soon, there will be a turnaround for the better in the Nigerian university system.
He referred to the story of the birth of Jesus Christ and said it was hope that led the three wise men to the manger where Jesus was born because in those days, there were no artificial intelligence, Google maps or even compasses.
Popular Christmas songs were sung. There was a traditional music ensemble as well as Fuji Christmas by the Fuji Ensemble Group. Members of the audience also had the opportunities to sing along with the choir.
