
Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo has held its maiden matriculation ceremony for the newly admitted students into the university.
In an event well attended by academicians, stakeholders, government functionaries, parents of matriculating students and general public within and outside the university’s environment witness the matriculation of the pioneer students.
Kindly note that the Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo is a newly established university by the government of Oyo State, under the leadership of Gov. Seyi Makinde in August 2023.

At the matriculation ceremony, the Pioneer Vice Chancellor of Alayande University, Prof. Olanrewaju Olaniyan urged the newly and pioneer students of the institution to be up and doing in their academic journey in the institution.
Olaniyan in his presentation further lauds the members of staff of the institution to continue their good and innovative works in uplifting the status of the new institution.
Furthermore, Olaniyan emphasizes the importance of hard work on the part of both the teaching and non-teaching staff with the students and members of the university community at large.
“It’s on record that 3,306 applied to be part of the pioneer students of the institution and make history, but only 2,600 students were successfully admitted by the institution after meeting up with the merit qualifications and other requirements expected of them.”

“Also from the 2,600 pioneer students, 59% of the matriculating students are female, while the remaining 41% are male. And that’s to emphasize how gender sensitive the Alayande University is.” Olaniyan, VC noted.
In total, the institution historically freshly matriculated 2,600 students to mark the official commencement of academic programmes and closes admission exercise of the institution for 20234/2024 academic session, the institution’s first academic session..
Keynote speaker, Prof. Adeniyi Gbadegesin charges the new students to do well in discovering their hidden potentials for the benefit of themselves and the country at large.
Gbadegesin further advised the pioneer students of Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo to be a good ambassador as their set will be a point of reference as the institution keeps growing in success.
While at that, he made the new students understand the nature of education life that is full of ups and downs.
He emphasizes that the journey might not be rosy all the time as there will be some down time in the journey, and to compliment the good time, and conquer the downtime, it requires adequate planning and good life tips.
Present at the matriculation ceremony are Governor Seyi Makinde who was ably represented by the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Saliu Adelabu, who reiterates the commitment of the state government to the development of the institution.
Also in attendance are Oyo State House of Assembly Chief Whip, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola of Atiba State Constituency and Hon. Olorunpoto Cephas Rahman of Oyo East/Oyo West State Constituency.
Others are principal officers of other Oyo State owned institutions, political functionaries and well wishers.
