BAYO ADELABU — The only stronghold on which democracy stands is the will of the people. It gives verve to the popular saying that majority will always have their ways because democracy is a game of number while minority will also have their say because it is fertile on the soil of participation and equality. This makes democracy to be the best of practice world over in spite of challenges which I will highlight another time.
It should however been borne in mind that the only decider of fate is the supreme being, He may favour the weak and enthrones the meek and vice versa.
Surah Ali ‘Imran 3:26; “Say, ‘O Allah, Lord of the kingdoms! You give the kingdom to whom You will and take it from whom You will, and You exalt whom You will and humble whom you wish”
The Variegated opinions on Oloye Bayo Adelabu 2027 aspiration and the fear it fuels, causing disquiet in some quarters I will be quick to say, are the tonics of democracy. From sublime to the pedestrian comments, all are good for democracy.
Be as it may, with all the viewpoints expressed hitherto, Oloye Adelabu Adebayo has not dignified any with a response. The answer to this can’t be far-fetched. Oloye Bayo Adelabu is a staunch respecter of people’s rights and inclusion. Which is the hallmark of a true democrat who upholds democratic principles. As in a popular parlance, his response has always been “let them say.”
A Soulful Tale of Adelabu Adebayo and “Iya PENKELEMESI, Oke-Ogun”
Oloye Adelabu Adebayo is an embodiment of participatory democracy, this is evidenced through a mix of values and attitudes in the past.
When Adelabu lost in 2019 elections, he went straight to the court of law in spite of other means available to thwarts people’s wishes. This is a telling sign of a person who genuinely believes in A. V Diseys’ “principle of law over might.” Eventually, he accepted his fate with equanimity and moved on in life.
In Oyo State today, Oloye Adelabu Adebayo stands shoulder high amongst the major employers of Labour through his shades of business empire which includes hospitality, estate, farming, transportation to mention but a few whilst his foundation has been ceaselessly putting smiles on the distressed. In all these, Oyo State people stand an unparalleled advantage.
No doubt, he possesses critical thinking skills to ratiocinate and apply other legal routes when he feels he’s short changed. An example is 2023 election when he quietly moved to the Accord party, rather than caused any uproar in APC.
He believes in reasoned debate and evidence based analysis and terribly frowns from half truth and misinformation. His performances on both conventional and social media are topnotch.
He supports the open governance system and unfettered the rights of the citizens to ask questions or make comments as enshrined in the constitution. He is open to constructive criticism and always willing to correct mistakes.
When a mutual friend accosted him recently and asked of his 2027 ambition, his response was incisive, “Let’s leave everything in the hands of God and allow the people of Oyo State to decide, its not a do or die affair.”
Though brief but meaningful, it substantiate the above epigraph and validates Oloye Bayo Adelabu as an antidote for quiet desperation.
I hope those who are afraid of defeats before the warfare would desist from spreading the rumour of “Imposition,” and God’s willing meet the unassuming Minister in the race by 2027.
