Akinola in his press statement on the protest, as made available by his Media Assistant, Akintunde Yusuf, expressed his greatest concern on the planned protest of ‘August 1’ that it is not what we needed at this time when our economy is teething and looking for immediate stimulus for stability.

“Protests of any kind will further cripple the economy and pound the effect on us all. Why not call for a roundtable discussion and fashion out way forward.”

“It’s true and obvious that things are not going on well generally. But it is still a process. The sounding of protest alone has passed the necessary message to the leadership of this country at all levels.”

“President Bola Tinubu has heard the agitations of Nigerians and Nigerian youths in particular and has swung up actions to reposition things for the benefit and interest of all.

“Nigeria is a prosperous country, and our collective ideas are needed to solve our numerous challenges as citizens.”

“President Bola Tinubu, the 36 state governors, 774 local government chairmen, 109 senators, 360 House of Representatives members and other political office holders are working on numerous ways to put things in order. “ Akinola said.

“We should not allow the unpalatable occurrences of the ‘ENDSARS’ protest recently to repeat itself. As some political opponents are waiting to hijacked the protest for other reasons known to them.”

“We should be more proactive on the roundtable rather than on the street where there is no clear objectives or identify leadership for the protest to even discuss if the needs call for such.”

“I want to specially appeal and urge my people of Egbeda/Ona-Ara Federal Constituency to remain peaceful in their respective houses and shun protest of any kind as there are more better ways to move forward as a nation than protest. It is our fundamental human rights, but still, there is need for caution at this time.” He concluded.
