Dennis Idahosa — I am still reading through some pieces of how a man would choose the uncertain political career at the expense of a certain, enduring, sustainable and secure one in the name of being hurried to be addressed as ‘His Excellency’ that is not excellent.
So they say, politics is funny and devoid of logic many times. Even in its cause to embarrass the logic it devoid, it even went further to slaughter the sensitivity that existed in human beings. Humans generally are driven by uncertain emotions and lots of wishful thinking. But it is also confirmed that a disciplined minded human can conquer the insensitivity syndrome of politics. It is then difficult to equate the acceptance of Hon. Dennis Idahosa to be Edo State deputy governorship candidate in his APC to the position he is presently holding, a serving member of House of Representatives looking promising and full of impacts.
Maybe Idahosa is not too conversant with the history of Deputy Governorship position in Nigeria context. Or maybe we should queries his knowledge of the history of how his assumed godfather or pathfinder treated his deputy while in office and what ended their relationship. If not for the Grace of God and intelligence plus the ‘crush him down’ politics against his assumed present Godfather that paved the way for his successor in another party at the tale of the end of his government. Even that one that is favored with that political abracadabra of Edo then is messing around his deputy, and making him as useless as used tissue paper.
Deputy in Nigeria context are somehow rendered redundant. With the exception of Lagos, I don’t really hear of or know any much ‘glorified and useful’ deputies in Nigeria political settings. I think Idahosa has failed to understand that he is ambitious with his governorship candidate. Crushing him as to clear him out of the way in their next political combat after this yet to know its probable outcome.
But wait, what if APC loses the election with Idahosa as deputy governorship candidate, what sense will that make to him after he might have resigned from the lower chamber of Nigeria National Assembly? And when a replacement would have emerged.

I think those who know him or are closer to him should give him a wise counsel to reject the offer of the deputy governorship candidate in the next election and prepare ahead of the future primary of his party then.
Before it is too late, Idahosa is digging a political grave that will not only consume him but some of his followers and his career. I think he is overrating himself for the results he obtained in the last election making him the member representing his federal constituency. Maybe he would’ve known what the election was if Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was not on the ballot on the same day as his election. He would not have to toe this line of political perdition.
Idahosa is making an uninteresting political move. He should be careful.
