PDP and Faozey, the way forward.

Just like the natural political order in Nigeria system, all, not major, politicians always have their interest at the top of their mind with respect to their followers’ intent and interest, and some, careless about their followers but only their interest. The events of 2023 general elections in Nigeria birthed a series of political order in different states of the federation, and Oyo State is not exceptional.
The APC crisis of 2021 extending to 2022 which further polarizes the party into different folds. And also forcing some out of the party to seek their political ambitions and interests using other party platforms to contest and possibly see the realization of their political goal. Tactically, some left the party to prove a point that, no, injustice cannot continue to reign in the progressive party and be part of it. Few others stay put and take a backseat to watch how the whole drama ends.
The internal crisis of the party gave a huge leverage for the incumbent PDP Gov. Seyi Makinde who can be seen as unstoppable at the time. Even with his ineffective and quack populism game he eventually won with, whatever ways. Thanks to the G5 game that further sealed his second term bid. But is Makinde truly unstoppable at that time? That’s a different story for another day.
The splitting into APC and Accord in major is a big blow for the duo of the APC and Accord accordingly.
The many happenings of the 2023 general elections in APC and Oyo State may not likely see a logical end. Why? The factors responsible for the ‘scramble and partitioning’ of the party are still yet to be resolved. The emergence of Ajiboye Omodewu as the party chairman against the ‘maybe’ popular choice of Baba Abu Gbadamosi of the majority of the stakeholders then and the wobbling state of primaries of the party that breaded unending hatred and rivalry between and among aspirants and stakeholders plus members.
Anyway, the dissection of the internal wound of the party will be attended to as well later. Back to the new PhD Aerospace Engineer, Engr. Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen who contested under Accord Party as candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District, political journey. Asking like many others, is Faozey leaving the Accord Party for APC or PDP? No one knows the answer to the above. But politically, which of the two will pay for his political career?
Let us be reminded of one thing, he knows what is best for him. It is not possible for anyone to tell him what to do, he owns his life and his political future.
Is The Movement from ACCORD PARTY to APC?
Faozey’s loyalty is still in APC. His foot soldiers are in APC. He has no linkage anywhere else as we stand at the moment. But is his interest secured and protected in APC? The answer may be YES and as well NO if he still has the Oyo Central Senatorial District interest at heart.
But technically Oyo Central ticket is not protected if he ported back to APC. The incumbent Sen. Yunus Akintunde will certainly recontest the seat. He will use his power of incumbency to secure the ticket. But there seems to be a caveat for his re-election for some identifiable reasons. And if the body language of his party-political leaders and stakeholders is carefully studied. Anyway, his performance will clear the road for him at that time.
One of them, there have been some early complaints on the over pampered personalization of Sen. Yunus Akintunde by the Oyos, and which some party stakeholders from both Ibadan and Ogbomosho are not happy about. Though their grievances are not yet pronounced, the seed is germinating already. And also, a strong candidate from PDP, Labor Party, if still in existence and others will determine his political fate.
Then, what is the fate of Faozey in APC Oyo state and Central if that still remains his ambition?
Or is the Oyo Federal Constituency open for him? Can he defeat the incumbent son of the immediate past Alaafin of Oyo, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi Skimeh? If the statistics and permutations of the present situation are still valid, he may not get that. And then, where is his fate in APC?

Or from ACCORD to PDP?
If we all do not know anything, there is one thing we should know in PDP, Chief Lukman Oyebisi Ilaka, the Ladilu of Oyo town may not be nearing the ticket of the party for Oyo Central again. Anyway, political ambition can be funny. He may have tried to as well, but I am not too sure if Gov. Seyi Makinde and would be delegates will consider him for that. Else, the party may still lock the door on themselves after hearing the announcement of results.
If Chief Ilaka is probably not contesting again in Oyo Central, who else can still if we assess all possibilities on the table within PDP.? Or we may have to look at the potentiality of those commissioners from the senatorial district.
Again, we cannot overrule the possibility of the governor picking up the ticket of Oyo Central by laying claim to Ona-Ara Local Government or going to Oyo South by claiming Ibadan North East Local Government. But which is easy to contest for governor? Oyo Central seems to, and that’s a message for Faozey to think about before deciding his move to PDP. Except and only if there is a strong agreement between him and Gov. Seyi Makinde. Or resolved to pick the Oyo Federal Constituency ticket of the party.
And that is if he has the mind of redirecting his ambition from Senator to House of Representatives member like Engr. Remi Oseni of Ido-Ibarapa who dropped off from Guber ambition to pursue and won the House of Representatives ticket and seat. It is good for him. If that will be a sure bet for him.
What’s Faozey headache?

No one could say exactly what his headache would be but one of the certain headaches is the followership. Will those hundreds and thousands of followers in Ibadan, Oyo and Ogbomosho dance to the talking drum to PDP if he decided to? I am too sure of the NO answer in majority of them.
I am also sure, he may not want to fall into the hand of possible jackals in his bid to find his feat if peradventure he chose to opt for PDP amidst the APC uncertainty.
The road is too rough, tough and deep for Faozey Oladotun Nurudeen PhD. But if you are in his shoes, what will you do?
Let’s wait till December 15th to see if he is showing up at Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu’s mega return to APC at the Oke-Ado party office.
