The family of Late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III has announced activities to mark the two years remembrance of the Late monarch.

The family, in a statement signed by member representing Atiba, Oyo East, Oyo West and AFIJIO Federal Constituency, Honorable Prince Akeem Adeyemi, listed 4 events for the remembrance.

Full details of activities of the remembrance are below:

1. 9 am: Christian Prayers To Be Anchored By Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Heads of Churches.

Venue: Late Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi Private Residence, Boroboro Area, Oyo, Oyo State.

2. Asa Orisa Traditional prayers @ Alaafin’s Palace Oyo 9.50am

3.10 am: Islamic Prayers Anchor By Oyo Central Mosque Comprising Leagues Of Imams and Alfas, Oyo Muslim Community In Conjunction With Al-Fatih-Ul- Al-Qureeb Muslim Organization, Oyo Zone.

BIRTHDAY: Akinola Felicitates Ex-APC Deputy Nat'l Youth Leader, Repete

Venue: Qureeb Islamic Organization Central Mosque, Galilee Area, Oyo.

Thereafter, Inspection Of The On Going Construction Of Qureeb Mosque To Be Completed By Hon Prince Akeem Adeniyi Adeyemi In Loving Memory Of Late Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi, 111, At The Qureeb Islamic Organization Centre, Galilee Area, Oyo.

4. 12 noon. Energization Of Electric Transformer at Iware Town, Sponsored by Hon Akeem Adeyemi and Senator Yunus Akintunde

Recall that the 44th Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi Alowolodu III, who lived an extraordinary life dedicated to battles, joined his ancestors on Friday, April 22, 2022.

He was 83 and had ruled for nearly 52 years, the longest of any Alaafin in modern history.

He thrived against adversities that marked his way from childhood, survived storms, and championed the culture and tradition of the Yoruba.
