Ibadan Explosion: Akinola Sympathizes with Makinde, Ibadan People

Following the recent ‘Ibadan Explosion’, Hon. Akinjide Kazeem Akinola has expressed his sadness over the unfortunate incident that shook the entire Ibadan, Oyo State yesterday, Tuesday 16th of January, 2024.

In his message, he described the incident, Ibadan explosion, as a sad and an unfortunate one that must not repeat itself again in Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria.

According to him in a press statement made available to newsmen, “I am deeply saddened by the incident that have cost many people their lives and left many seriously injured with properties destroyed and brought to the ground level. Seeing those pictures flying around on media spaces, it is very disturbing and worrisome.”

 

“I don’t know how those allegedly said to have involved in this unfortunate incident decided to store such an explosive device or whatsoever in such a residential area and to have put peoples’ lives in serious danger with properties.”

The retired Army captain further added that, “I commiserate with Governor Seyi Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State on this incident. I commend his prompt and timely response to arrest the situation from causing further havoc.” He added.

“To those who have lost their loved ones, I sympathize with them as well. May Allah give them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. And those recuperating from one injury or the other, I pray for quick recovery for them as well.”

 

“It is important for the constituted authorities concerned to fish out those allegedly fingered to have put the whole state in a state of sorry.” He concluded.
