The Oyo State Commissioner for Energy and Mineral Resources, Barrister Seun Ashamu Tna has congratulated all the new Chairmen-elect, their vice, and all forty Councilors for their Victory at the poll.
It would be recalled that local government elections held on Saturday, 27th of April, received accolades from key figures including Aare Isiaka Olagunju (SAN), Chairman of OYSIEC, and Adebola Hamzat, the State Commissioner of Police, who commended the process as credible, transparent and devoid of violence.
Among those acknowledged were Hon. Wahab Waliu Adetunji Wabkem, Chairman-elect for Atiba LG, Hon. Prince Akeem Salam Babatunde Olukitibi, Chairman-elect for Oyo West LG, Hon. Oluokun Peter Olusola, Chairman-elect for Oyo East LG and Hon. Olufemi Aikomo, Chairman-elect for Afijio LG along with all vice chairman and Councilorship elects Within the Oyo federal constituency.
Barrister Ashamu pressed further to laud the long work to the landslide victory of the elected officials as well-deserved, describing their campaign as a democrat par excellent with a detailed manifesto to transform the grassroots tiers of government.
He now called on them to make their decision achievable, realistic, and time-bound towards effective grassroots connectivity of all-round development, as a replica of Governor Seyi Makinde’s sustainable legacy in Oyo State.
He expressed unwavering gratitude to the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde for ensuring Hitch free nature of the poll and peaceful conduct of the electorates, during and after the exercise

While describing the local government as important tiers, Ashamu charged the newly elected officials to provide viable leadership impacts that will speak to the yearnings of the grassroots people.
