Following the demise of Oba Lekan Balogun, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, the senator representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Sen. Yunus Abiodun Akintunde, has mourned the passing away of the former lawmaker and His Imperial Majesty.
Kindly recall that Oba Balogun before ascending the stool of Olubadan of Ibadanland represent oyo central senatorial district between 1999 and 2003.
According to Yunus Akintunde “We have lost another top monarch and distinguished Nigerian in the person of late Ọba Balogun.”
“For me, it is a personal loss as I was close to him. He is like a father-figure and that was not even because he represented the same people I am currently representing. I will miss his wise counsel.
“Though nobody wants monarchs like Ọba Balogun dead anytime soon, we are consoled that Kabiyesi’s transition came during this Holy Month of Ramadan.”
