In the agency’s efforts to further sensitize the general public in this holy month of Ramadan, the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Oyo State Chapter has called on all stakeholders to join the call for national prayer for the property of the country.
During the annual Ramadan Lecture of the agency held at the NOA state headquarters, Agodi Ibadan, clerics advise the general public to be righteous as the general inability of Nigerians to be righteous is why we are facing the present predicament.
In his Ramadan lecture at NOA State Headquarters, a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies, University of Ibadan, Dr. Adams Akewula described the present state of the nation as one that calls for serious concerns for all.
“Nigeria is a great nation we should continue to be proud of. But the inappropriateness of some in managing our collective resources put under their care are all what lead us to the present state of guagemire.”

“With the state of things, we can still get it right through our respective and individual efforts with a positive mindset that Nigeria will be great again.
“We are all stakeholders in Nigeria, irrespective of the settings we are operating from; formal, informal and semi-formal, all of us have roles to play in the repositioning of our dear country, Nigeria.” Akewula concluded.
In her remarks, the Oyo NOA Director, Dr. Mrs. Kemi Afolayan-Owolabi thanked the entire staff of NOA, Oyo State chapter for their unrelenting support and the efforts they have been putting in place to make the Ramadan Lecture a successful one.
She further implored all to pray for the progress and development of Nigeria.
“The development of this country is in our collective hands. Let’s joined hands together to pray for this country for things to work out for good. We don’t have anywhere else to call our own others than Nigeria.”
“It is important as well for us to appeal to all well meaning Nigerians who have little or surplus resources at their disposal to reach out to those who have less or even none at this time.”
“One of the lessons of Ramadan is brotherhood. Let’s be our brother’s keeper. Let’s show empathy and be humble in the face of the present challenges facing this county.” She concluded.
At the Ramadan lecture program, prayers were offered for peaceful coexistence and national security, good governance, Nigerians and the leadership of the country at large by the Assembly of Islamic scholars present.
