On behalf of the Director General, National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, the Oyo State Director, Dr Olukemi Afolayan, commiserates with the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, the Olubadan in Council, the Lekan Balogun family and the indigenes of Ibadanland on the passage of His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Senator) Mahood Olalekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, who joined his ancestors in the early hours of today 15th March, 2024.

The Director noted that Oba Lekan Balogun was an embodiment of the Yoruba Omoluabi concept which he demonstrated during his reign as the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The Agency noted with nostalgia Oba Balogun’s warm disposition, when he received the Director General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu in February, 2024.

Many issues of national interest were discussed during the visit. The State Director, Dr. Kemi Afolayan reiterated that NOA would make use of the late Kabiyesi’s suggestions and advice in the onerous task of moving Nigeria to greatness.

The late Olubadan will be remembered as a patriot who was passionate about the peace and progress of Ibadanland in particular and that of Nigeria in general. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljanat Firdaus.
