Concerned youth stakeholders from the Saki area of Oyo State have distanced themselves from a recent meeting, described as a press conference, held in Iseyin on Wednesday. The meeting reportedly declared support for the gubernatorial aspirations of an unnamed individual ahead of the 2027 general election.
In a press statement, the concerned youths expressed shock when learnt that Dr. Ojedokun Jonathan allegedly declared support for the meeting’s convener on their behalf. They emphasized that Ojedokun is neither part of their group nor an original indigene of Saki; therefore, he lacks the authority to represent Saki youths.
The statement, signed by Hon. Olabode Adeniyi, a stakeholder of the Saki Youths, reads:
“It is high time we counter political propaganda and falsehoods. Politics should be guided by facts.”

“Our political affiliations should not make us lose our sense of identity as true Saki indigenes. We must not compromise our integrity, character, and reputation, built over years, for temporary benefits from any political actor. Posterity will always judge our actions.”
“As proud sons and daughters of Saki in Oke-Ogun, we categorically state that we are unaware of the reported press conference held in Iseyin, Oke-ogun Zone 1.”

“Saki youths were not involved in this event. The individual who claimed to represent us only speaks for a minority group and his personal interests, along with those who sent him. It is important to make it clear here that, Dr. Ojedokun Jonathan is not from Saki, and a member of the Aiyekale family he is laying claim of. He’s purely from Zone 1 as stated earlier, and obviously, his ill moves is to put his original zone up against the other zone, Okeogun Zone 2.”
“In light of this, we call on all Oke-Ogun indigenes, especially core Saki natives, to close ranks and unify in pursuit of Oke-Ogun’s collective political aspirations, rather than allowing unnecessary divisions fueled by misleading press conferences.”
In conclusion, Adeniyi reaffirmed that while Oke-Ogun is collectively advocating for the governorship seat in Oyo State come 2027, no specific faction has been singled out from this movement. “This will be a collective effort,” he said.
“Let us protect the general interest of Oke-Ogun, rather than pursuing individual or minority agendas.”
