UI receives a team from Missouri State University

A 2-man team from Missouri State University has arrived at the University of Ibadan on a mission for future collaboration.

The team was led by Professor Paula Moore, the representative of the Director of International Programmes. She was accompanied by Associate Professor Tayo Obafemi-Ajayi of the Department of Engineering and Computer Science.

Professor Moore said she sees this visit as an opportunity to work with the ‘great’ UI, of which she had heard very many good stories.

She expressed the hope that the visit would pave the way for exchange visits of both staff and students of the two universities.

The Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Professor Olufunke Ola-Davies, received the visitors on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor. She gave them the assurances of the Vice-Chancellor’s highest regards and stated that UI was very amenable to signing a Memorandum of Understanding with MSU.

The convener of the UI team is Professor J. Gbenga Adewale, a former Director of the Institute of Education.

The two teams are expected to hold a technical meeting at which the purpose of the meeting will be discussed. UI is expected to show its readiness to partner with MSU while the MSU team will provide more information in terms of its expectations, and the next steps will be discussed.
