Hon. Akinjide Kazeem Akinola, a chieftain of APC in Oyo State has mourned the passing of the late Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Mohood ‘Lekan Balogun.
Akinola in his mourning message as circulated by his Media Assistant, Akintunde Yusuf, described the demise of Oba ‘Lekan Balogun as one too heavy to bear as an Ibadan man.

Akinola added that Oba Lekan Balogun was a great man during his reign as Olubadan of Ibadanland. His demise is shocking and sad for us in Ibadanland.
“Oba Lekan Balogun’s intellectual prowess, cultural discipline, high level of native intelligence, oratorical value and host of other sterling qualities distinguished him during his reign.”
“Ibadan, Oyo State and Nigeria witnessed peaceful atmosphere, growth and development, value reorientation and modeling royalty during his reign.”
“Historically, he was one of the greatest Olubadan of Ibadanland we have had. Our Baba lived long as he died at 82, but short as the Olubadan of Ibadanland”
