OYO STATE
By The Mogjournals Correspondent
In the political landscape of pacesetter state, Oyo, Mogaji Olaide Olalere of Sangotegbe family compound in Ibadan North-East stands as a committed advocate for progressive governance. A staunch member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he remains unwavering in his dedication to the growth and development of Oyo, despite political hurdles that have temporarily delayed his ambition of serving in the Oyo State House of Assembly.
In an exclusive interview with The Mogjournals, Mogaji Olalere shared his thoughts on leadership, governance, and his vision for a better Oyo State.
“Ibadan and Oyo State Always Come First”
For Mogaji Olalere, the love for pacesetter state, Oyo is not just political rhetoric, it is a lifelong commitment.
“I have never for one day given up on the progress of Oyo State,” he said passionately. “My goal has always been to contribute my quota to the advancement of our people, whether or not I hold a political office. Oyo State deserves visionary leadership that prioritizes development over personal interests.”
Despite facing political setbacks in his bid to represent his constituency, Mogaji Olalere remains undeterred. He strongly believes that leadership is about service, and even without an official title, he continues to champion initiatives that uplift communities across Ibadan North-East and beyond.

“We Cannot Afford to Lag Behind in Basic Development”
Addressing the current state of infrastructure in Oyo State, Mogaji Olalere expressed his concern over issues that should have been long resolved.
“It is disheartening that in this generation, we still struggle with problems like open defecation and poor sanitation in our markets. How can a major marketplace not have a functional public toilet? These are basic amenities that should not even be up for debate in a state as historically rich and resourceful as Oyo.”
According to him, the slow pace of development in some sectors of the state is not due to a lack of resources but rather a lack of commitment from some leaders. He stressed that genuine development comes from electing people who truly have the interest of the people at heart.
“Grassroots Development is Key”
Mogaji Olalere believes that true progress begins from the grassroots, and leadership should focus on ensuring that local communities receive the necessary support.
“The government must prioritize grassroots development. When you empower the people at the local level, the entire state benefits. This is why I strongly advocate for leaders who are genuinely passionate about improving the lives of the people. Governance should not be about personal enrichment but about service.”

“If Given the Opportunity, I Will Represent Oyo State with Excellence”
Looking ahead, Mogaji Olalere remains optimistic about the future and his ability to contribute meaningfully to the development of Oyo State if given the mandate to serve.
“I am ready to provide effective representation for my people. Leadership is about listening, understanding challenges, and implementing sustainable solutions. Oyo State deserves leaders who are proactive, dedicated, and transparent. If given the opportunity, I will ensure that our local government and the state at large experience real progress.”
With his unwavering commitment to the development of Oyo State, Mogaji Olaide Olalere is undoubtedly a political figure to watch. His vision for a better Ibadan North-East and a prosperous Oyo State resonates with the aspirations of many, making him a strong voice in the state’s political discourse.
